29 May 2025 | Wyndham Acmar Hotel, Klang, Isuzu Malaysia proudly held the 4th Isuzu Malaysia Skills Competition (IMSC) on 29 May 2025, making a memorable milestone as it was the first year the entire event – from the competition to the award ceremony and dinner – was organized at a hotel venue, Wyndham Acmar Hotel in Klang.
As in previous years, the competition comprised two main categories: Mechanic and Service Advisor. This year, 9 dealers submitted their best candidates to compete in this highly anticipated event.
For 2025, the competition introduced an enhanced and more realistic format aimed at refining the skill sets of our participants:
- In the Service Advisor category, contestants engaged in a role-play scenario focusing on Part Sales Promotion, designed to sharpen their upselling and customer communication skills.
- Meanwhile, Mechanic category participants underwent an online theoretical exam followed by a practical session, conducted in an environment designed to replicate the 1IGP competition conditions in Japan, ensuring they are better prepared for global competition standards.

Speech by COO, Mr. Wataru Miyamoto
I was briefed by Mr. Kugan that this year’s competition is the most difficult in IMSB history. The format of the competition is similar to the one that was held in Japan in 2024. Our Training & Skills Development Dept. (TSD) have also made several changes to our hardware and software items to ensure the competition meets the standards similar to I-1 Grand Prix international competition and this includes the training vehicles, GIDSS Scan tools, theory questions and the practical test sequence. Further details will be explained by Kugan during his closing speech.
IMSB witnessed new dealer outlet participating in the SA category and that is RHI Kuching however, unable to join the finals due to Gawai celebrations.
My sincere appreciation also these dealers who have participated in the IMSC event for past 4 consecutive years continuously and they are ISC, ACM, Weng Fatt and Indah Utara.
Celebrating the Winners
The highlight of the event was the award ceremony and appreciation dinner, graced by Mr. Tomoyuki Yamaguchi, CEO of Isuzu Malaysia, and Mr. Wataru Miyamoto, COO of the After Sales Division. Distinguished guests from Isuzu Motors Limited (IML), Isuzu Motors International Thailand (IMIT), and Isuzu Motors Asia (IMA) also joined in celebrating the achievements of our talented finalists.

This year’s champions were:
- 🏆 Mr. Kaarthik from Dynamic Motors Sdn Bhd – 1st Place, Mechanic Category
- 🏆 Mohamad Mukhriz Bin Zainuddin from Isuzu Service Center – 1st Place, Service Advisor Category

In his closing speech, Mr. Kugan V, Program Director of IMSC, congratulated all participants and winners for their outstanding performance. He shared an inspiring message, urging everyone to “dare to change for the sake of success and to never give up, no matter the challenge.”

The 4th IMSC 2025 stands as a testament to Isuzu Malaysia’s commitment to nurturing talent, raising after-sales standards, and preparing our people for global excellence. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all dealers and participants for their continuous support and dedication.
Enjoying the Spoils of Victory
The celebration didn’t end with the trophies and cash prizes. To reward the hard work and dedication of all finalists, Isuzu Malaysia also treated them to an exciting go-karting session, giving participants a well-deserved chance to relax, bond, and release stress after an intense day of competition. It was a fun-filled experience that reinforced camaraderie among the Isuzu network and highlighted the brand’s appreciation for its people beyond the workplace.
