The Objective
Continue to provide Isuzu Service staff (mechanics & service advisor) in each dealership with the opportunities to improve their skills.
Continue to improve the service level in each dealership by competing against each other in terms of knowledge and technical abilities.
Select the best two mechanics to compete in Isuzu World Technical Competition (I-1GP) in Japan.
The Event
This year 2024, is the 3rd year that IMSB successfully organized the Isuzu Malaysia Skill Competition (IMSC). The participation of dealers for this year was very encouraging.
There were two categories, i.e. Mechanics and Service Advisors category just like the previous year. There were two rounds of selections, the1st and 2nd stage selections to determine those who qualify for the finals. To qualify for the finals, only the top 10 contestants were selected through few assessments.
The Spotlight
For Mechanic category, the first place was awarded to Mr. Kamolphan A/L Ing Ju from Indah Utara Auto Service Centre Sdn Bhd – Bukit Mertajam while for the Service Advisor category, the first place was awarded to Ms. Siti Nor Aida binti Omar from Indah Utara Auto Service Centre Sdn Bhd – Alor Setar.
The Participation
The 3rd IMSC received a good response from the dealers. A total of 18 dealers participated from the first stage to the final stage. IMSB would like to thank all the dealers who participated in the 3rd IMSC for their strong support and cooperation towards this program. IMSB anticipates greater participation from the dealers in the next edition of this competition.
The Competition Day
On the day of the competition, the participants were judged via theory and practical assessment. For the theory format, the participants were given one hour to answer the exam paper.
For the mechanic category, they were judged based on measurement, troubleshooting, diagnostics while in the Service Advisor category, they have to perform one round inspection and upselling.
The Welcome Speech
“Isuzu Malaysia is proud to host this aftersales event for the third consecutive year. The objective of this event is mainly to honour the aftersales personnel from our dealers and to motivate them to continue to deliver exemplary and excellent aftersales service experience for our esteemed customers.”
The Prize Giving Ceremony
The Prize Giving Ceremony was held at Wyndham Acmar Klang. The management of IMSB After Sales and all the dealers involved were invited to enliven the event. CEO of IMSB, Mr. Shunsuke Okazoe, COO of ASD, Mr. Wataru Miyamoto and we also have guests from IML, Sato san, Fujii san, Motohashi san and Nakayama san who graced the ceremony.
The Closing Speech
Mr. Kugan V, Program Director of Isuzu Malaysia Skill Competition congratulated the winners in his closing speech and emphasized on them the importance of applying their skills and knowledge in their day-to-day job to provide excellent aftersales service to our esteemed Isuzu customers.
Apart from that, he also made a special announcement of four I1GP finalists who will participate in intensive camp and two participants will be directly selected to participate in the I1GP competition in the LCV category in Japan and CV category in Thailand.
The Team Building
On the second day before they left for the incentive trip, they participated in a team building activity organized by Dr. Claire at the Wyndham Acmar Klang. They enjoyed the team building activities, especially the games and exercises that can help strengthen the bonds between team members, improve their ability to work together effectively, and create a productive work environment.
The Incentive Trip
Apart from trophies and cash prize, IMSB treated the finalist to a 2 days/1night Incentive Trip to Janda Baik. They also stayed at Anani Villa, Janda Baik for one night. Not only that, but all participants also enjoyed and experienced a thrilling ride and exploring the scenery nature of the village view while speeding up with the ATV.
